Real Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 2 large Pink Lady apples, sliced

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1/4 cup rolled oats (gluten-free)

  • 1/4 cup almond flour

  • 2 tablespoons chopped almonds

  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted

  • A pinch of salt

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sliced apples and lemon juice. Toss to coat apples evenly.

  3. In another bowl, mix together rolled oats, almond flour, chopped almonds, honey or maple syrup, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, melted coconut oil, and pinch of salt. This will be the crisp topping.

  4. In a baking dish, arrange sliced apples evenly.

  5. Sprinkle crisp topping mixture evenly over apples.

  6. Cover baking dish with and bake in preheated oven 20-25 minutes.

  7. Remove cover and bake an additional 10-15 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender.

  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
